We swung by the newly renovated Lai Chi Kok Skatepark to take some snaps and to test out the park. It goes without saying, this spot is top notch. Good for all levels of skateboarding and just the right amount of space. It's the first @SLS certified skate park in Hong Kong, designed & built by @caskateparks. It's definitely a great milestone for HK Skateboarding. Photos shot with a Fujifilm XT-10. Enjoy the #photodump.
Last March we were fortunate enough to have done a trip to California. It is without a doubt that California played an important role in shaping the skateboarding and surfing scene. Everything about the lifestyle rings true to the very core of Gahyao - skate, grafitti, music and art. Photos shot with a Disposable Lomography Camera and 35mm film. Enjoy the #photodump.
We take a minute to catch up with skate photographer extraordinaire - Maui Hidalgo - on coasting through life, freelance photography and life as a skate photographer in the Philippines. "Our third Artist Feature hits close to home. I met Maui back in 2003 when skateboarding was all we did, day-in-day-out."
Go Skateboarding Day is an annual holiday that's geared to promote skateboarding. It's a day where like-minded individuals band together and just let loose (even if only for a day). June 21 - Hong Kong took skateboarding back to the streets. We hit up Hung Hum to take some snaps of the event. It was a nice day out, with a buzz in the air and nothing but wheels on pavement. A shout out to all the people who made this happen @ahksa_ @psyroot_hk @ninepush @xgamehk @protoys420 @fanlingskateshop @vanshkg @globestore_hongkong @girlscanskategcs @self.hk @kurvworldwide @8five2shop @hkitskateboardshop
